VISCONTI
The Visconti Dragon and Phoenix, part of the Supernatural Creatures series, is a limited edition of 188 pieces worldwide. It is an amazing example of Japanese Urushi lacquer art painted with the maki-e technique.
In brief, master Soukou Oshita, a fourth generation maki-e artist, applies powdered gold and silver in specific patterns to a damp lacquered surface. Once dry, another layer of lacquer is applied and then polished.
The Dragon and Phoenix fountain pen is a useable work of art done on a special ivory celluloid and features an 18K gold nib and Visconti's famous "Double Reservoir Power Filler", a unique non-leak dual tank system. It arrives in a beautiful lined briar box.
